Who we are
- This ordering service is run by Talkerstein Consulting Inc. (Toronto, Ontario) for the restaurants that use it. When you order, the restaurant is the business you're buying from; we process your order for them.
What we collect when you order
- Your name, mobile number and, if you give it, your email address.
- For delivery: your address, unit and any delivery instructions.
- What you ordered, when, the total, the tip, and the order's delivery status.
- Card payments are handled by Clover in fields hosted by Clover. We never see or store your full card number.
- Your cart is kept in your own browser until you order. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who it's shared with, and why
- The restaurant: to make your order and contact you about it.
- Clover (Fiserv): to process your payment and send the order to the restaurant's kitchen.
- Uber (Uber Direct): for delivery orders, your name, phone number, address, delivery instructions and the items, so a courier can deliver and contact you. Uber may text you about the delivery.
- Resend: to send your order confirmation and delivery emails, if you gave an email.
- Vercel: hosts this service and stores order records.
- When you type an address, the text you type is sent to an OpenStreetMap address service (Photon, run by komoot) to suggest matches.
- We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Order records are kept so the restaurant can handle questions, refunds and its own bookkeeping. Delivery photos are kept by Uber for up to 30 days.
- You can ask us to delete your details at any time, unless we or the restaurant are required by law to keep a record of the sale.
Your choices
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about this notice, by emailing hi@talkerstein.ca. We'll reply within 30 days.
- If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
